Alternative proteins, Aquaculture and Urban Agriculture – a look at Singapore’s vibrant agrifood scene

Singapore is working with local and global agrifood companies to develop and commercialise agrifood solutions that can strengthen its food supply resilience and sustainably feed the world. There has been ongoing government investment, including funding of some S$309 million (US$229.3 million), to drive research and development (R&D) in three subsectors:

  1. Alternative proteins
  2. Aquaculture
  3. Urban agriculture

These key areas promise growth opportunities for global agrifood companies looking to meet the increasing needs of Asian consumers, with the region’s food spending expected to double to over S$10.65 trillion (US$8 trillion) by 2030. Take a look at how Singapore is supporting agrifood businesses and how they are tapping its ecosystem for expansion.
